First Ark Park in the Münsterland region

One of the city park’s unique features is that it has been designated the first Ark Park in the Münsterland region. Here, old and endangered breeds of farm animals are preserved and cared for. Visitors can discover, among others, Skudden sheep, Thuringian Forest goats, Spectacled sheep, and Bentheim Black-and-White pigs—animals that are rarely seen elsewhere.

The city park has been modernized several times in recent years and now offers a successful combination of nature, environmental education, and recreational fun. The barefoot trail is particularly popular; it winds through various surfaces such as sand, gravel, wood, and peat, and on hot summer days, water sections provide a pleasant way to cool off.

A wonderful destination for families with children, animal lovers, walkers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone looking to spend a relaxing day in the great outdoors.
