Emsaue and Mühlenbach loop

This varied circular tour takes you through the most beautiful corners of Emsdetten and combines enjoyment of nature with proximity to the city.

You start at the Emsdetten hiking station and after a short time you reach the Emsauen, an idyllic nature reserve with numerous information points, relaxing banks and picturesque paths along the Ems. The route continues to the Finnenbahn, where you can enjoy a particularly relaxing stretch on the soft ground.

Passing Meinerts Brook, the tour leads through the water conservation area at Grevener Damm before reaching Emsdettener Stadtpark - perfect for a short breather and to give your feet some fresh air on the barefoot path.

You then follow the Mühlenbachweg trail, which takes you along the babbling brook to the Kulturhof Deitmar and into the town center, where it's worth stopping for a bite to eat. Finally, the route ends back at the hiking station.
