Entspanntes Radeln über Wettringen zum Offlumer See
This longer tour is particularly relaxing and takes you to a worthwhile destination: Offlumer See. You start at Emsdetten train station and cycle first to Ahlintel. From there, you continue along the meadows along the Max Clemens Canal towards Wettringen.
The landscape increasingly opens up as you pass the quaint Wettringer Heimathaus, which is now used as a cultural and meeting place. Quiet sections along the former railroad line invite you to take short breaks and take in the greenery before you finally reach Offlumer See. Once an area for gravel and sand mining, it is now a popular excursion destination with a sandy beach, bathing facilities and the charming "Ewige Liebe" café - ideal for an extended break or a leisurely stop.
On the way back, you cross the center of Neuenkirchen and pass the historic Villa Hecking. The route then takes you in a wide arc via Mesum and Isendorf back to Emsdetten.
