Die „Hembergener Acht“: Emsauenrunde(n) nach Greven

This tour takes the idea of the popular "Emsdettener Acht" cycling concept and transfers it to the open landscape along the Ems around Hembergen. The result is a varied route that connects two towns and leaves plenty of room for nature, views and small discoveries.

The starting point is Emsdetten railroad station - alternatively, the route can also be easily cycled from Hembergen in both directions. First, the route leads through the Emsdetten Ems floodplains with a viewing balcony, information stations and relaxing banks and for a long stretch along the popular Ems cycle path. The route then continues through the idyllic village of Hembergen, always close to the Ems, towards Greven.

In Greven, you can stop for a bite to eat or take a short stroll through the town. Those interested in culture can cycle straight on through the Wentruper Berge nature reserve to the Sachsenhof, one of the oldest open-air museums in Münsterland.

On the way back, Hembergen comes closer again. From the Heinz-Rinsche tower, you can enjoy a wide view over the Ems landscape before the Dettener Weg on the other side of the Ems takes you back to Emsdetten. A tour with plenty of space, quiet paths and regional tradition.
