Hof Deitmar is considered one of Emsdetten's historical places of origin. As the last surviving original farmstead, it is a reminder of the beginnings of today's urban area and is still an important place of identification for the town. Over the years, a museum and cultural landscape has developed around the historic main building, combining history and the present in a unique way.
The Kulturhof is part of the North Rhine-Westphalian funding program "Third Places - Houses for Culture and Encounters in Rural Areas". The aim is to make culture accessible at a low threshold and to bring people together in conversation. This is exactly what is achieved here in an impressive way: Culture is not only created on stages, but also through encounters, joint activities and spontaneous conversations in the park.
Our tip: The historic bakehouse
A special attraction is the bakehouse, which was built according to historical models. Traditional baking is still carried out here on special occasions. Groups can book the popular "Baking bread in the bakehouse" experience and see how bread and rolls are made in the stone oven - a treat for all the senses and a journey into the everyday history of times gone by.
