The Speicher-Museum in pictures
The oldest building in the city
The granary dates back to the 17th century and is one of the few surviving reminders of Emsdetten's early history. For centuries, it was used to store agricultural supplies and played an important role on the Deitmar farm.
Today it forms a central part of the museum island and combines historical architecture with living local history.
Agriculture you can touch
The equipment on display impressively demonstrates how farming worked before mechanization. Many of the tools seem surprisingly simple from today's perspective, but required hard physical work and great craftsmanship.
This creates an authentic impression of the everyday life of the self-sufficient farmers who determined life in the region for centuries.
