Art in a historic industrial setting

The special atmosphere of the building characterizes every visit. High rooms, historic building fabric and modern exhibition concepts create an exciting contrast between past and present. Galerie Münsterland is located on the site of the former B. W. Stroetmann textile factory. The former machine and boiler house was extensively converted into an exhibition center in the early 1990s and is now one of the most important venues for contemporary art in Münsterland.

The industrial character of the building was deliberately retained. The historic walls, steel beams and spatial structures still form an extraordinary backdrop for modern art and make every exhibition a special experience.

Regional and international appeal

The Galerie Münsterland e. V. association has been committed to promoting contemporary visual art for many years. A particular focus is on working with young artists and cooperating with cultural institutions in the region and beyond. Again and again, extraordinary exhibitions and international projects attract attention far beyond the Münsterland region.
