Short, close to nature, and surprisingly diverse: This loop is the shortest tour in the collection, yet it offers a wealth of special experiences. It follows the Brookweg through the village of Ahlintel and continues past the meadows of the former Max-Clemens Canal. At Grafensteiner Lake, the Emsdettener Venn finally opens up—a protected natural area featuring moor and heath landscapes, winding paths, as well as lookout points and birdwatching towers. A nature trail provides fascinating insights into the flora, fauna, and history of this unique area.

Cycling along Mühlenbachweg to the Gräftenhöfen in Nordwalde

From here, the Mühlenbachweg trail takes you on a leisurely walk toward Nordwalde, where you’ll pass several historic moated farms. These stately farms, surrounded by moats, are modeled after moated castles and are typical of the Münsterland region. A particularly beautiful example of how such a farm is used today is the Bispinghof, which now serves as a vibrant gathering place and a cultural “third place.”
