Tour tips: Slow down on the way through the green cultural landscape

If you want to combine peace, nature and exercise, you will find the best conditions in Ahlintel. Gentle cycle paths, quiet walking routes and rural paths lead through green landscapes, charming farms and creative nature spots. Ideal for relaxed excursions by bike or on foot - far away from everyday life, very close to nature.

The Postdamm and Mystikwald loop

The route starts in the picturesque village center of the farming community of Ahlintel. From here, the trail takes you to the Steinfurt waterworks before continuing along the historic Postdamm to the mystical Zauberwald, a fascinating wooded area with numerous art objects.

The Bagno and Max Clemens Canal circuit

Starting from the center of Emsdetten, you’ll head along Mühlenbachweg toward Lintel’s Kotten, where you’ll come across the historic Max-Clemens Canal for the first time. You’ll then continue through Nordwalde and the Steinfurt neighborhood of Borghorst all the way to the Bagno, the park surrounding the moated castle of Burgsteinfurt. From Steinfurt, the route takes you through the Borghorster Venn, past the Füchten glider airfield, and back to the former Max-Clemens Canal. You’ll then return to Emsdetten via the Brook.
