The Cocomico musical "Conni - The Musical!" is going on tour!

It's Conni's birthday, and she's got lots of plans: Playing, romping, dancing, singing, baking the world's best chocolate cake "Conni-Super-Selber-Spezial!" with her friends, and cuddling with her teddy bear and her lovely cat Mau ... and then Conni is: finally grown up! Conni's parents and her little brother Jakob are at her side and are already very excited. On Conni's birthday, everything is sure to go smoothly and nothing stands in the way of a super birthday party. Or...?

There's never a dull moment for Conni, her family, her friends and all the young and old members of the audience in this musical birthday adventure. There's always something going on, and Conni has a lot of support from all her many audience members, from her friends on stage and in the audience, from mum and dad Klawitter, and also from her teddy bear and her beloved cat Mau!

True to the motto "What Conni can do - so can you!", the musical audience becomes part of the production and can help Conni and her friends to make Conni's musical birthday a complete success.

The result is a musical fun for young and old, to join in, laugh along and experience, with lots of great songs and plenty of charm! And the musical really gets the audience, young and old, moving!

Conni is one of the most popular children's book characters and has been delighting children from the age of three for over three decades. For her young readers, Conni is a kind of "best friend" who masters a wide variety of everyday situations just like them. Well over two hundred different Conni books have been published over the past many years. Conni is also a perennial favourite on television and in the cinema!

The Cocomico-Conni musicals have delighted well over 800,000 visitors of all ages!

A play for children aged 4 and over!

Where Lucas lives, it’s noisy and hectic, and sometimes all the commotion really puts him in a bad mood.

But when a snail invites him into its home in the garden, he is transported into a wondrous world full of sounds and fantastical landscapes. Together with the snail, he explores its inner world and, at the end, he’s even presented with a big, round, very light gift that he can strap onto his back.

The “Pindopp” children’s theatre series is presented by Stroetmanns Fabrik and supported by Kreissparkasse Steinfurt.

For lovers of acoustic guitar music, ‘The International Guitar Night’ concert series has long been a highlight of the annual programme. Held annually in November, the tour has guaranteed sold-out concert halls and an enthusiastic audience for more than 30 years. Master guitarists from all over the world, with a line-up that changes every year, regularly treat music lovers throughout Germany to unforgettable concert evenings.

This year, International Guitar Night presents Dave Goodman (Canada), Jaco Liu (China) and Peter Finger (Germany).

Dave Goodman

Dave Goodman is a true all-rounder: the Canadian-born artist is in equal measure an exceptional musician, storyteller and entertainer. The high-energy performances of this well-travelled singer-songwriter transcend genres; he knows exactly how to captivate and move his audience with soulful ballads as well as powerful, rock-inspired songs.

The fascinating combination of his stunningly beautiful guitar playing—with phenomenal dexterity of world-class calibre—and his timeless original compositions, coupled with a talent for presenting lived experiences with wit and charm, makes him a globally acclaimed acoustic artist and his concerts a truly memorable experience.

Jaco Liu

Guitarist Jaco Liu is one of the most fascinating up-and-coming artists on the international fingerstyle scene. Born in Baiyin (China), he discovered his passion for fingerstyle guitar at the age of just nine. With no sheet music available, he developed an exceptional ear for music at an early age and taught himself pieces by renowned guitarists such as Tommy Emmanuel and Andy McKee.

Liu’s first breakthrough came in 2017 at the age of just twelve: his cover of ‘Thunderstruck’ went viral and racked up over 100 million views. This was followed by television appearances and victory at the prestigious Chinese guitar competition, the WAGF – as its youngest ever winner. Since then, he has performed regularly on national and international stages and has toured with artists including Petteri Sariola. Since 2024, he has been studying at the Dresden University of Music, developing his own artistic style and increasingly focusing on his own compositions. His third album was released in 2025 – made possible by his win at the 6th European Guitar Award.

Peter Finger

Peter Finger, the founder of ‘International Guitar Night’, achieves the perfect harmony of virtuosity, musicality and composition. His musical universe is boundless, reflecting a profound knowledge of both music history and contemporary music. Thus, the attentive listener will time and again encounter the musical language of Debussy, Ravel or Stravinsky – and, in the same breath, perhaps find themselves in rock-inspired realms, lured into ‘strumming’ their way into the vast world of jazz. Or they may marvel at Finger’s almost orchestral, at times breathtakingly experimental interweaving of rhythm, harmony and melody.

Peter Finger’s music is always a sensual delight, far removed from any intellectual detachment. It is both sophisticated and stimulating.

Melanie Peoski presents her programme ‘Disney & Film Music – John Williams, Hans Zimmer & more’, featuring soulful works, impressive arrangements of famous film melodies and her own emotional musical compositions – full of depth, tranquillity and poetry.

The candlelit concerts bring the special atmosphere, usually found only in major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg or Munich, to smaller towns – right here in Emsdetten.

Kisses on the cheek, yoga and the big theme of ‘letting go’: in her show ‘Take a deep breath first!’, Frieda Braun brings both recent experiences and pure fiction to the stage. As always, the jungle of human emotions and interpersonal relationships forms the wildly overgrown terrain on which her stories run riot.

Legendary: Frieda’s resourceful “splinter group”

Is your life chaotic? Do you argue a lot? Do you hardly get any sleep? Help is at hand in the form of Frieda and her splinter group; all of them women with gruff personalities who could have stepped straight out of the famous Miss Marple films starring Margaret Rutherford.

The unworldly Thekla, the meticulous Mia, the robust Brunhild – they’ve compiled a set of tried-and-tested principles for bringing more structure to everyday life. And lo and behold: we suddenly find ourselves laughing heartily at the often-annoying quirks of our existence. For a whole evening.

“Do you know that…?”

“Do you know that…?” – when Frieda Braun begins a sentence with this question, the audience knows: what follows is an observation of everyday life that almost everyone recognises, but which hardly anyone stages as absurdly as this droll and endearing cabaret character. She has mastered the art of taking the familiar and exaggerating it in a quirky way, whilst bringing the unconscious to the surface in an irresistibly funny manner.

Frieda Braun captivates not only her audience but also many critics. The press writes: “A unique blend of text, facial expressions and movement”, and one audience member sums it up in three words: “A meerkat on ecstasy!” As excitable as a hen, as nimble as a weasel, as shy as a hare – in “Erst mal durchatmen!”, Frieda once again showcases every facet of her acting talent.

On 28 November 2026, the Kolping Wind Orchestra Emsdetten will take to the stage for ‘Between the Baton and the Amplifier’ and captivate the audience at

7 pm at Stroetmann’s Fabrik. Under the baton of conductor Yuman Xiao, the orchestra will present a special musical highlight for the third time.

“Listen up, folks, and mark my words: our bell has struck ten…” was once heard in the streets and alleys of Emsdetten as the night watchman made his evening rounds. Dressed in historical costume and equipped with a halberd, a lantern and a horn, the night watchman Bernard Bruch is now returning to Emsdetten. 

He takes his guests on a journey back to an Emsdetten of times long past and has many anecdotes from the 19th century to share – when Emsdetten was still a village, yet already had a good twenty inns and was beginning to develop economically. Passing by striking landmarks in the town centre such as the old town hall, the railway station, St Pankratius’ Church and the villas around the Volksbank and Sparkasse, he recounts his duties as a night watchman, but also about the lives of the tub-makers, how Emsdetten was connected to the railway, and in doing so brings the history and stories back to life.

Note for those attending with children: The tour is suitable for children aged 8 and over.
