What was once an important textile factory is now one of the liveliest cultural centers in the region - a meeting place for people of all ages and an integral part of social life in Emsdetten.

Stroetmanns Farbik in pictures
From textile factory to cultural center
The name is reminiscent of the former B. W. Stroetmann textile factory, which helped shape Emsdetten's industrial development for more than a century. After the production site was closed in the 1980s, the idea was born to revitalize the building as a cultural meeting place.
In 1994, the former factory was converted into a modern event center by the city of Emsdetten. An important part of the historic building fabric was preserved - a successful example of how industrial culture can be put to good use and become a place for the whole town.
Today, the building is run by the non-profit association "Sozio-kulturelles Zentrum Emsdetten e. V." and enjoys an excellent reputation far beyond the city limits. Stroetmanns Fabrik is much more than just an event venue. Clubs, cultural initiatives, artists, families, companies and guests from the entire region meet here. The building combines professional cultural work with local roots and creates space for exchange, creativity and community.
The heart of the building is the impressive atrium alongside the Bürgersaal. Under a modern glass roof, historic brick walls meet contemporary architecture. The preserved factory walls tell of the industrial past of the location and give every event a very special atmosphere.

Don't just visit the big events in the Bürgersaal, but also soak up the special atmosphere of the Lichthof. Concert evenings in particular show why Stroetmanns Fabrik is one of the most popular cultural venues in Münsterland.
